About Us

The San Diego Law Enforcement Emerald society was founded in April of 1999.  We have joined company with the three other California (Los Angeles, San Francisco and the Inland Empire) chapters as part of the National Conference of Law Enforcement Emerald Societies (NCLEES), headquartered in Washington, DC.  (For additional information on NCLEES call (301) 858-6972.)

The SDLEES is a non-profit, multi-agency organization with the goal of fostering goodwill among the numerous Law Enforcement agencies within the communities of San Diego County.  Additionally The Society intends to instill, preserve and celebrate the dedication of the Irish-American Law Enforcement Officers, past and present, and their Gaelic culture.

Objectives

leaf

  • To develop a spirit of brotherhood and fellowship among its members.
  • To encourage greater participation in the activities of organizations existing within the law enforcement community.
  • To encourage members to fully familiarize themselves with the prescribed, authorized and accepted practices and procedures of law enforcement and forensic procedures so that they will be able to serve their constituents in a more courteous, intelligent, and efficient manner.
  • To engender exemplary conduct on the part of its members, thereby creating respect and goodwill toward law enforcement personnel.
  • To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States and of the State of California at all times.
  • To instill and preserve in its members the heritage of their Gaelic culture.
  • To award scholarships annually to children of members of this society.
